Project Description:
T&M Bos Dairy, in Fair Oaks, Indiana, manages dairy manure using a heated mesophilic mixed plug-flow anaerobic digester and biogas control system that generates, captures and combusts methane gas that would otherwise be emitted to the atmosphere under baseline manure treatment in open air anaerobic lagoons. Collected biogas is utilized to generate electricity for on-farm use or grid supply, and to provide heat to accelerate the manure digestion process. Biogas is destroyed through the operation of engine-generator sets (three installed), a boiler, and a flare.
